FROM CHURCH TO HELL?
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt. 7: 22-23.
Many in the church today have assumed that going to church every Sunday, attending church
programs, being baptized, given offering and Tithes consistently, being a church worker etc, will
guarantee them a place in heaven with God at the end of their lives. They may have answered the altar call before, may even be preachers, casting out demons and healing the sick etc. However, if they failed to consciously and effectively tackle the issue of sin and compromise, having not genuinely repented and forsaken their sins (even after conversion), and if they die in their sins, then the verdict of the scripture is clear: THEY WILL GO FROM CHURCH TO HELL!
Jesus without mincing words said these people call him Lord (born again), preached and prophesied, and even casted out demons IN HIS NAME (it is not even every child of God that operates at this level), so thought they should be admitted into heaven because of their acts. He will however tell them plainly DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY. Beloved, do not let anyone deceive you that no matter how you live your life in sin and compromise, that the grace of God covers you. It can never be, because ‘God is of a purer eye, and he cannot behold iniquity’ Hab.1 :13. Do you know that God have to look away from Jesus, His only begotten son on the cross because he took upon himself the sins of the whole world? Jesus cried, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matt. 27:26
The good news however is that an effective provision has been made for you through the blood
of Jesus Christ (1John 1:9). Take a conscious decision to break away from sin, and if you ever fall
into one, quickly confess and apply the blood (1John 2:1,2). Then trust God for the grace to live
holy and faithfully to the end, ‘for he that endureth to the end shall be saved’ (Matt.10:22)
You can do so by praying this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I believe you came and died for my sins. Today, I surrender my life to you. Please forgive me all my sins, wash me by your blood, and be my Lord and Saviour. Thank you for saving me. Amen!”
If you pray this prayer and you meant it, then you are now a child of God (John 1: 12). You need to get a Bible and read it daily, and also take time to pray to God and avoid every form of sin. Locate a Bible believing church around you to attend regularly.
